This exhibition consists of interventions wherein the artists and the public negotiate the exchange, the buying or selling of conversations, gestures, texts or symbolic objects, giving rise to a discussion about the consumerist society and the art market. By using this small set of words which stand among the most popularly employed sentences in our contemporary world, we question the circulation of products, services, ideas and ideals that constantly summon us to take on the role of consumer in endless exchanges, waged by means of object-based or symbolic values. Exchanges which almost always compromise the subjective experiences of those involved.
Curated by Josué Mattos, this project invites artists to incorporate ideas and actions based on an artistic genealogy that was first conceived in the 1970s, and which seeks to engender alternative attitudes and postures towards the capitalist system.
In this exhibition I presented two interventions: Another Identity and Love for Sale: R$ 0,10.
